I'm glad i'm not the only one with one of these seeing this. I think he's
refereing to these
http://h18007.www1.hp.com/support/files/handheldiPAQ/us/locate/105_5644.html

I used this version of activesync to apply
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsmobile/downloads/activesync38.mspx

Actually though I've applied these before but I didn't have the parrot
boot loader reinstalled. I think as he mentions it does need to be
reinstalled. I say that because I noticed there were some minor
differences with it installed, and prevoiusly I wasn't even 100% it'd gone
as the updates intended.

Definately, perhaps
http://handhelds.org/moin/moin.cgi/HpIpaqH5400

If this makes the flashing more reliable or fixes the issue I'll post
about it. Otherwise I guess there's just a bug or bugs with familiar and
this port, that cause this ;/ maybe a bug report in that case then.

seems to be that I need to do some firmware updates. They are only
possible in wince. You will have to restore the wince bootloader first
before running these updates. A quick request from you. Could you send
me a copy of your wince 5555 parrot bootloader image? As I lost mine by
way of formatting and I can not update my wifi and system rom without
the wince bootloader. Try the updates for yourself and let us know your
mileage. I had the same issues and then some and I think it is all
attributable to the firmware.
