You could try using jflash_pxa_linux (from CVS). I think that's what I
used last time I needed to debrick an h5400. I have no idea what the
status is with the openwince bits.

If that fails, I guess you will need to watch the JTAG signals with an
oscilloscope to make sure that they are all connected properly and doing
the right thing.
