Problem with JTAG and h5450

Hi

I bricked my IPAQ 5450 and followed the instructions at
http://evilg.home.t-link.de/jtag-howto/. When I get to the detect stage using
the jtag program, I get the following message: "detect_parts: bad JTAG
connection (TDO is 1)". That's with jtag 0.4, 0.5.1 doesn't give any message.
I've checked and double checked the connections and they all look ok, there's
also voltage on VCC and the 2 battery pins have been shorted (battery switch is
held down as well). Anyone have any ideas on what else I could try.
