Re: joypad interrupt question

I have hacked out the diagonal moves of the h5400 joypad. And now I am
much happier with things like opie-reader. In case people are interested
in this trivial patch:
http://hovland.org/familiar/remove-diag.patch

I am still picking apart the code though. Anyone have some thoughts as
to why the compound key has a timer hooked up to it? For reference see
h5400_compound_key_isr(), h5400_asic_key_init() and
h5400_asic_key_timer_func(). Does it provide some sort of hardware level
merging of sensor flags? If so, does it work? Why not do it in software?

Any advice is appreciated.

Thanks

E
