Hello all,
I'm trying to boot on familiar-0.8.0 (standalone, opie or gpe). I'm
currently stuck at boot time :-(
The behaviour is the following (with gpe image and bootloader 2.21.12):
Flashing process is OK, the boot command then shows the usual message:
Uncompressing Linux........................................... done, booting the kernel.
(with nothing more at all on console). Then the linux logo came on screen,
then the gpe 2.5 nice splash with backlight on. So as said in installation
instructions, I've been waiting for the first boot process to complete...
and I'm still waiting ! (hours).
Then after hours and thousands of tests, I finally found that my linuxargs
parameter is wrong.
It was:
linuxargs= < noinitrd root=/dev/mtdblock1 init=/linuxrc console=ttySA0>
(it was working with 0.7.2)
Changing ttySA0 to ttyS0 makes kernel boot much more verbose on console. But
things still remain stuck (on gpe splash). The last console message is:
Warning: loading h5400_asic will taint the kernel: no license
See http://www.tux.org/lkml/#export-tainted for information about tainted modules
I know that some people have succeeded in flashing and booting 0.8.0, I
would like to ask to those of you who have done it to give me their
linuxargs parameter. At bootldr console, it can be showed up by typing the
command "params".
In the meanwhile I'll continue to zulu-dance around the device.
Thanks a lot,
