Hello List Members,

Apologies if people are working on this and its an FAQ, but I can't find any really recent info. relating to this topic (I have gone through the archives and found a few references to the fact that this is being worked on, but nothing more)..

I installed Familiar Linux and Opie on my iPaq 5550 at the weekend.

Very impressed. I even got the SD card going (Kingston 512MB), WLAN and USB networking.

The only issue I have is that the (Alsa?) sound driver will not produce sound through headphones when I plug them in. (The headphones are definitely not faulty).

Also, when I play back an .avi file off the SD card (a Kingston 512MB), the playback is not too great - its a bit choppy. WinCE on this same device played WMV files perfectly.

Here what I'm running:

Opie v1.0.3
Kernel 2.4.19-rmk6-pxa1-hh37
Familiar v0.7.2

I updated all the packages from the feeds.

Am I doing something wrong is there work still on-going to get the headphones working and some way to improve playback of movies?

Many thanks.
