Broken iPAQ after winCE restoration?

Hi all.
I've used opie/familiar for quite a while.
Today I tried to restore winCE. The instructions on http://www.handhelds.org/moin/moin.cgi/RestoringPocketPcOnH39xx worked quite well.

I installed my new gzipped root_image. After rebooting, winCE started correctly (calibration screen, today screen). Only saving settings did not work.
So I tried to reinstall the original bootloader. But now, after sending the bootloader image, the iPAQ is not responding to anything. Serial console does not work anymore (of course), and neither suspend or reset button are usable. Pressing the reset button only makes all LEDs blink one time.
I removed the battery for quite a while, but still it does not boot.

Any hints?
