The h5400-port list is not really the best place to get help with an
h3970. You would probably be better off asking ipaq@handhelds.org.
Generally, all that's needed to revive an h3900 from this state is to
connect AC power using the dongle and push the reset button. Once Linux
is running again, the battery will start to charge.
If your filesystem is damaged so that Linux will not boot, you will have
more of a problem. Assuming there is no valuable data on the device,
the easiest solution would be to reflash from the bootloader using a CF
card.
