opie problems

Hi, I just installed opie on my h5555 starting with the plain bootstrap image
found here:

http://handhelds.org/~pb/unstable/bootstrap-0.7.2+unstable3-h3900.jffs2

and adding:

src opie http://opie.handhelds.org/feed/ipaq/stable/latest

as recommended in previous posts.

The problem is that when opie starts, the backlight is dimmed to 10-15% even
if I set it to 100% in the screen settings.

Moreover, the suspend / shutdown function and the power button don't work at
all, so I have to remove the battery everytime I need to power off the
device... :(

Are these known issue? Is there any workaround available, especially for the
backlight?
