The h5500 series works just like the h5400 series. The only functional
difference is having twice as much RAM. The other difference is the
PXA255 processor instead of PXA250, but the Linux kernel supports both
just fine.
Use the instructions for the h5400 series -- i.e. use the PXA (h3900)
unstable tarfiles. The kernel detects the processor and RAM during
boot. If you use the bootloader command line to start your system
you'll need to use the probe memory command which I've forgotten,
perhaps "mem probe" to get the 128 MB, but if you let it boot
automatically it will detect it with no further effort? Use top to
verify the amount of system RAM.
The wifi is slightly less than stable on the h55xx, (I think same for
the h5400), you have to reload the module occasionally to continue using
it. The touchscreen driver just got fixed and may or may not prove to
be 100% stable.
Other than that and some problems with power management (devices aren't
turned off as often as they could be, drains battery in a couple hours),
everything except the fingerprint reader works. Only the last
distribution of the kernel has a working touchscreen however.
