Re: H4100-port Digest, Vol 41, Issue 1

One issue I always ran into was when using a card reader for my SD card it
didn't always make a mmcblk0p2 for an ext2 partition, in fact it made a
mmcblk0p6 for ext2 and an mmcblk0p5 for a fat16 (location of haret and
zImage and so forth). The mmcblk0p2 issue can be addressed in the
startup.txt file once you know what your partition is set for.

set CMDLINE "root=/dev/mmcblk0p2 console=ttyS0,115200n8 console=tty0"

I may be right out in left field but if this setting is incorrect it won't
locate your linux partition. Another issue I had experienced was extracting
the tarball onto my desktop then moving it to a linux partition on the sd
card, invariably it would extract subfolders during the move on me and lead
to startup issues, my workaround (being a relative noob) was to copy the
tarball to the sd card then cmd line extract it in location... seems to work
like a charm...

Best of Luck

Jod
