Installing a CVS based kernel

Hi there,
just joined in the fun and got Linux installed and working on my 4150.
Trying to get a CVS version of the kernel up and running now..
Done a "cvs co" from the repository
Then a "make h4000_defconfig", then a make, make modules, make modules_install
Copied the arch/arm/boot/zImage to my haret directory (and adjusted
startup.txt), and copied the modules to the SD card (/lib/modules/...)

I've got the SD card partitioned to have a fat fs on partition1, and ext2 on
partition 2..

Now - when I try to boot that version I get an error :

VFS: Cannot open root device "mmcblk0p2" or unknown-block (2,0)
Please append a correct "root=" boot option
Kernel panic - not syncing: VFS: Unable to mount root fs on unknown-block.

Any ideas ?

(I've copied the .config to http://www.aubit.com/transfer/ipaq_config if that
helps - its a little large to post to the list)
