I had to build my own kernel for my 4150. But if you try that, use gcc
3.4.1 (Jamey Hicks just created a toolchain and uploaded it to
ftp://ftp.handhelds.org/pub/linux/arm/toolchain/arm-linux-gcc-3.4.1.tar.bz2
), gcc 3.3.2 screwed it up and the kernel image was buggy.
You can also try the kernel I'm using (2.6.7-hh0) and initrd. Get them
from
initrd sets up USB networking (using IP 192.168.1.151 for usb0) and
tries to mount a root file system from 192.168.1.150:/home/ipaq_rootfs
via nfs.
There's only one small difference between initrd.gz and initrd1.gz:
initrd.gz tries to execute /linuxrc on the nfs share, while initrd1.gz
executes /sbin/init.
Sorry I can't share my rootfs yet, it's a gentoo installation and a
*bit* bloated (approx. 700 mb right now...) and far from being usable
(e.g. no X yet).
There's also haret.exe and my startup.txt to boot linux from CE,
using a serial console, as well as a program called tty.exe (a small
terminal program). As haret (at least the version I'm using) doesn't
initialize the serial port, serial console won't work unless you run
tty.exe on your ipaq before booting with haret (just start it, no need
to set baudrate etc).
Good luck!
