you could use a precompiled kernel, to do what your describing. But I dont
any of the precompiled kernels that I made support modules...

one of the kernels found here http://opdenacker.org/pda/ipaq/starterkit/
or http://www.gwynux.ca/h2200/ should work for you, (they have modules
support :-).

also I you want to compile your own, you should be aware pxafb is broken
in the current handhelds.org cvs. so if you want the kernel to boot dont
enable pxafb.
