I'll try RamdiskRescue - but, I've just followed Jack Dodds setup, it
looks pretty much bullet proof to me? It works for him; so, should work
for me (unless there's an hardware issue)?

Hmm, the pace of technology left me with out a serial port... Sold my
last machine with one a couple of months ago - perhaps wouldn't have if
I'd not mistaken a 15pin dsub for a 9pin...
