You really DO NOT need WINDOWS for this.
Just use a Terminal Progam on Linux like "Serial Port Terminal" GtkTerm.
Set in configuration set Port to /dev/ttyUSB0
Then it works just the same as described in the
http://www.angstrom-distribution.org/ipaq-h2200-series
document.
The actual flashing of the ROM is done by the 3rd stage Bootloader of
the iPAQ itself, so no WINDOWS is needed.
With Linux it is even more easy to write the pocketpc.rescue on the CF
card. Just a "dd" to the raw device:
If your CF-Card Reader is /dev/sdb (like mine) it's
dd if=pocketpc.rescue of=/dev/sdb bs=1M
To completely restore your PocketPC OS on the iPAQ you have to flash the
2nd stage bootloader also, because AFAIK LAB cannot boot PocketPC.
