There are, within reason.
The best option is to use an SD card (seeing as SDIO is unusable) and
install extra packages there. See archives for notes on that.
ps: I prefer bind mounts, PATH mod, and library config in comparison to
the linker script mentioned in a lot of posts.
(iow, works for me, is hot pluggable, and neater).
