Holux GR271 CF card with Familiar 8.4

All,
I've been trying to get a holux GR271 CF GPS working with my IPAQ.
There seems to be a problem with the 2.6.15 kernel and the serial_cs
module.

Using "logread -f" and then inserting the cf card gives a "FATAL :
Module serial_cs not found". I've checked the ipkg website at
"http://ipkgfind.handhelds.org/" and either the kernel-module packages
for serial_cs are for a different kernel or don't work. I've tried
multiple pcmcia packages trying to resolve this as well with no luck.

I've seen some references to similar problems under the 8.3 port with a
compiled module referenced but the link "
http://www.marcusbrutus.soho.on.net/software/h2200/" comes up
forbidden.

Failing a precompiled solution, can anyone point me to a "how to" for
compiling a custom kernel of Familiar linux?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
