Hi,
for me it works to name the zImage exactly like it is named on the vfat
partition on the CF card where the kernel, haret.exe and startup.txt is
located. I don't need to have the kernel in the boot directory on /dev/hda2.
In former days there was a bug in haret and you had to use wrap-haret. This
should be solved but could be worth a try.
here is my startup.txt file:

set KERNEL zImage
set MTYPE 341
set CMDLINE "root=/dev/hda2 rootdelay=5 console=tty0"
bootlinux
---------------------------------------
