The soc-device for the ADC is created in shamcop_probe. If this device
was missing, the ADC probe function would never be called, hence the
TS device would never be created, and the TS driver would never make any
attempt to start up. Since your ts driver apparently is getting
attached to something, I don't think this can be the problem.
