Hi Handy!

Thank you for your post!

Well, actually, we're not talking of booting from CF yet. What can now
be done is boot from RAM (thanks to HaRET), and then pivot_root to CF
(or NFS later).

Booting directly from CF or SD would require to replace the original
bootloader. Work on LAB (Linux as A Bootloader) is ongoing, but not
ready yet.

Of course, SD and SDIO are part of the plans! We first need to make some
basic functions of the Hamcop asic work (such as LEDs, interrupts, etc),
and then implement the SD driver for this asic. If you are interested in
participating to this work, you may start by reading
http://www.handhelds.org/platforms/hp/ipaq-h22xx/08-sdi.pdf, and also
check kernel sources for MMC/SD support. That would be great if you (and
other interested team members) could implement this!

About SDIO, I think that you're right. It will take more time to support
SDIO peripherals, and we'd rather start by using SD for storage and CF
for peripherals.

I can already picture my h2210 with 32 + 256 MB of Flash (thanks to SD),
and expanded with a CF USB host, CF Wlan or CF VGA adaptor (useful for
projecting slides)!

Welcome to the team!

    Cheers,

    Michael.
