how to build initrd?

Hello,

I've just checked out OE sources and built opie and gpe rootfs images.

I've successfully built gpe and opie images but to boot my h2200 I'm still
missing initrd. How can I build an initrd?
Also I looked in http://handhelds.org/~michaelo/ipaq/starterkit/ but
I've not found any initrd which is compatible with the root image I
built: e.g. when I boot the kernel with the only 2.6.8.1 compatible
initrd I found, initrd2681hh0_aug23a, the system fails when tries to pivot the
root from the ram disk to the nfs mounted root because it expects
/linuxrc and /mnt/initrd on the nfs root.
