Hello,
Like in production projects, a first step to make things easier is to
freeze the kernel version, and upgrade only when needed. Otherwise, we
may spend a lot of time trying to follow kernel upgrades.
I propose to use the kernel sources I used yesterday:
* http://handhelds.org/~michaelo/ipaq/kernel/linux-2.6.8.1-hh0_aug23_2004.tar.bz2
* http://handhelds.org/~michaelo/ipaq/kernel/linux-2.6.8.1-hh0_aug23_2004.tar.bz2.md5
* http://handhelds.org/~michaelo/ipaq/kernel/ipaq2681hh0_aug23a.config
I will create a .oe file using these sources, as we did for 2.6.6-hh0.
Of course, freezing the kernel for oe work doesn't prevent from playing
with the standalone kernel in parallel. That's very useful too, in
particular when we need to upgrade our stable kernel with fixes or new
features.
Cheers,
Michael.
