Hi all,
I just got a new h2200 ipaq that I was wanting to put linux on, the
documentation isn't very clear so I am uncertain of a few things.
1) what level of support do we have as of now? I see that sound isn't supported,
and it looks like overall support is rather limited (i.e. less than say on
another model of ipaq)
2) does bootldr/etc actually work on the h2200 series? That was left quite
unclear to me by the page.
3) if I wanted to go ahead and do this, what is the prefered method to do this?
The documentation isn't very clear as to whether I use bootldr/etc and do the
same process as for another ipaq or not.
4) syncing w/ linux. I seem to be having problems w/ synce, I think its related
to pppd because it doesnt appear that pppd calls the chat program, when I
renamed the chat program (the one that comes w/ synce), it failed but looking
through the source for the chat program it should call syslog as one of the
first things it does, but I don't see those lines anywhere in the logs (yes
I've checked syslog.conf). So pppd starts, I get the little popup on the ipaq,
but the connection is never established and if left alone, pppd never
dies/errors out/etc. Anyone got any idea's? today is the start of my weekend so
I had planned on playing with it some more now that I have some time off.
Anyways, I am excited to get started on this, any information on the above would
be appreciated.
10q,
jnf
