Alright, now, I installed the VmWare USB drivers, I get some activity
on my Fedora Core 2 installation.

After plugging the iPaq on the USB craddle, tail /var/log/messages
tells me I have a PocketPC PDA plugged in, but no modules claimes the
device, so it starts the usbserial driver, instead of associating the
iPaq with the usbnet module. (not sure if this is normal or not)

Now, on the iPaq, it's still the same thing, I start Haret, the
thermometer goes all the way to the top, the penguin gives me the big
eyes, then the backlight shuts off, but the penguin image is still in
the background, nothing else happends. (no boot screen or anything)

I am guessing that Peter is right, and the initrd and the kernel
aren't starting properly.

I tried it about a 150 times, and never got it to go further. On the
iPaq, I currently have the following files taken from
http://handhelds.org/~michaelo/ipaq/starterkit/ :

startup.txt 31-Jul-2004 07:02 190
initrd_jul25a 25-Jul-2004 11:00 574K (renamed to initrd)
haret.exe 08-Mar-2004 04:03 224K
zImage_jul25a 25-Jul-2004 16:42 763K (renamed to zImage)

If anyone has any suggestions (ie, changes to startup.txt, or
alternate versions of haret/initrd/zImage), I would be more than happy
to try them.

Thanks again!
