Hi,

I am using Fedora Core 2 (kernel 2.6.???) on Vmware 4.5.1 and it works ok.

In this case haret didn't start kernel ans initrd.
That just happened sometimes (in reality many times). It depends on the size
of the initrd. Smaller it is, better result it is. Check discussion under
"Serial" debuging via USB" and link
http://www.handhelds.org/hypermail/h2200-port/6/0686.html.

That is because haret didn't start kernel and initrd on IPaq, so there
is no connection request to the linux.

That is not the reason. As I say I am using similar method. I found out,
that ActiveSysnc doesn't need to be killed. When linux start up on
Ipaq, connection with ActiveSync is terminated, and USB device
can be manualy connected to the Vmware machine.

>Also, anyone heard about a driver like "Usbnet" available to WinXP?

Sometime ago I saw something simillar on the net, but I didn' test it. Just
use
linux under Vmware. I know this works.
