Hi Gwyneth

First I must admit that I havent tried the the latest releases, but earlier
I also had problems with CF cards. As you write the PCMCIA does identify the
card, but refuses to mount it.
Alain has used CF card and he did put a initrd and kernel on his webpage
which did work.
Unfortunately Im to much of a newbie to really understand what was wrong,
but at that time I could see that he used a older version of the PCMCIA.

Best Regards
Benny

Got it (and mirrored) Turns out I still get the messsage about /proc/hal
but
calibratiuon works fine, and yes Koen, it crashes where you said it would.
Excellent - we are all at the same bookmark.

Odd my host system crashes when the ipac boots. I will upgrade the kernel on
it to see if that helps (unrelated to what you guys are doing) I will also
play with the CF card to see if I can make some progress.

PCMCIA sees and identifies it as hda, just won't mount fat16. Perhaps I will
try an ext2 fs.

Keep up the great work guys.

Gwyneth
