Sure, SD should be used to keep the CF slot available!
Any volunteers to take care of the SD driver? The specs are on

Kernel programming is not more difficult than contributing to an
ordinary big software project. You actually only have to see the parts
you work on and the interfaces that you use. I really encourage you to
have a try and help us writing drivers.

The faster the h2200 series is fully supported on GNU/Linux, the more
free software users buy this device, and the stronger our community is!
