I've update my PPC via HP's PPC2003 upgrade BOTH times they had an
upgrade on there website and SO FAR they haven't upgraded the bootloader
(I've checked the version info. when the bootloader comes up). What I
do know is that remember that you'll be doing the JTAG programming at
YOUR OWN RISK because as of right now NO ONE knows enough to do it yet
and if programmed the wrong way you won't be able to unbrick it. The
only way your be able to unbrick it is send it to HP Cambridge Labs.

When you go to JTAG the H2200 I would suggest to try programming a
specific section of ROM then booting into the HTC bootloader and running
the command to display the memory address like how they found the
password for the bootloader. Once you do this you'll know that you
found out the proper way to do it and be able to expand on that. This
way if you mess up Windows CE just use the backup CF card of WindowsCE
created with the d2s command and let the PDA restore the original ROM
image.

I think I remember seeing a little about the flash in the hardware docs
so check there I just don't know where though.

Hope this helps.

Nice. But JTAG is also very handy for debugging kernel SW. And I simply
want
it to work.

That's how it should be. IMNSHO, the first (small) bootloader should be
as
fixed as the hardware. Although I'm not sure if the HP upgrade tool
isn't
upgrading it too.
