I guess you also removed the screws in the battery case (red circles in
my picture)...

Does any one else have extra suggestions?

By the way, I wonder what the thing in the blue circle is for. Did you
try to push on it? As far as the 2 holes in the yellow circles are
concerned, I guess their use is to attach the device to something else,
such as a protecting case...
