wifi-sd on 191x

Dear members,

I'm looking for confirmation from your side:

Would it be theoretically possible given an open source Opie or GPE Ipaq
1915 to load a wifi sd card (i.e., the wifi part) ?

Are the claims made across the net correct, saying that the SD
port is never going to work for SDIO wifi cards on 191x.
