I have been having a lot of trouble getting Linux on my HP1940 unit.
I could use text mode usb connection to my linux box. But had no luck
with gpe. (I did follow the step by step instructions to the dot... but
to no avail)
the gpe distribution used gpe-h1940-familiar-0.8.3-r8.tar.bz2
Version of haret used: haret-0.3.8
After tapping on the haret.exe and point init to the default.txt, I get
a little penguin on the top left corner, and a blinking cursor below.
And nothing happens.
The defualt.txt file for haret is as follows
*******************************************************************
set MTYPE 347
set KERNEL "zImage"
set RAMADDR 0x30000000
set CMDLINE "root=/dev/mmcblk0p2 console=ttySAC2,115200n8 rootdelay=5
panic=30"
bootlinux
*********************************************************************
I also tried armstrong-gpe-image-2007... (unstable) but had no luck.
I have partitiona my SD (ScanDisk 128MB) card
1. First Partition fat16,
2. Second partition ext2
( extracted the root file system of gpe & modified fstab as follows
=========================================================
#rootfs / auto defaults

/dev/mmcblk0p2 / auto defaults

proc /proc proc defaults
0 0
devpts /dev/pts devpts mode=0620,gid=5
0 0
usbdevfs /proc/bus/usb usbdevfs noauto

I am wondering if you could help me out .
