Hi Tõnu,
I have successfully installed Linux on my iPaq 1910 absolutely everything
works apart from the USB connection to the net (which I suspect is my doing
anyways) The hardest part is getting to bootloader to work and then its as
simple as the instructions state. Just forget the 'dudeman walkthrough' it
is antiquated and horrifically unclear.
The main instructions given do work (for me anyways) altho it sometimes
helps if you rewrite them yourself in a language you can understand but at
the moment, u gotta understand these guy's are probably as busy as you and
the progress they have made has been astounding. I promise you if the
documentation released with the final version is insufficent then I (and
about 10 others!) will document it consisely.
But if your hoping for direct and obvious emancipation (freeeedom!) then
u'd be better off waiting a while, OPIE is pretty much a copy of CE with a
few extra functions. I'm determined to get X-windows running :-)
BTW: I've choosen to throw myself in at the deep end and installed linux on
everything I own thats capable of runing it. So far the experience has been
riveting, the constant battle for total functionality is sooo rewarding
isn't it? I now use my computer with a smile.
Good luck
