newbie trying Linux

I've been chomping at the bit to try Linux on a PPC for some time and
have inherited an h1910 from a friend. I used to test Windows software
and at first I dove into the driver/ software problem getting in the
way of having wi-fi. I'm at an impass and now I've decided to load
Linux. I've wanted to do this for my own edification and just the fun
of the risk of it and now I'm wondering if the wi-fi and the Linux on
my PDA can coexist either in practice or in any other way. I may be
off-base but thanks-in-advance for any direction.
