i had the same problem a couple of weeks ago.
just reflash the kernel partition again from the bootloader console.
you might also want to double-check the partition settings.

when this happened to me, it took several retries, but finally it
worked. i don't know what exactly had happened to my kernel image,
so all i can offer are guesses...
