Before looking into familiar I made a short side-step to
www.pocketlinux.com. A customer wants to run Java programs ...

I then compiled my own kaffe and Klasses.jar from their cvs and managed
to get a HelloWorld.class file running. Worked nicely, without a seg
fault.

Kaffe is, after stripping, about 800 kb big in size. Quite an amount
for my 16 MB flash device, but then again ... if the customer doesn't
like Qt, we have to find a solution :-)

I like package-build distros (like a familiar) much more then
monolythically ones. And so I went away from both mLinux (www.lisa.de)
and PocketLinux to Familiar. That was the point where I asked how to
make my own ipkg file, because I now want to bundle Kaffe and Klasses
and CLASSPATH= and maybe even binfmt_misc into something sensible).

I am elaborating this here so, maybe someone already has done the work
or maybe someone is interested in the result ?!?!
