I checked the archives and found a thread around July 2nd having the
same problem as I long the lines of:
cardmgr[2905]: modprobe exited with status 255
cardmgr[2905]: module /lib/modules/2.4.6-rmk2-np1-fam4/pcmcia/memory_cs.o not available
cardmgr[2905]: get dev info on socket 1 failed: Resource temporarily unavailable
Except with the 2.4.3 kernel (I believe the one stock in familiar 0.4).
I've been trying to get a 3670+dual slot + orinco working. I installed
familar-0.4 then the following packages:
backpaq-modules-2.4.6-rmk2-np1-fam4_hh1_arm.ipk
ide-modules-2.4.6-rmk2-np1-fam4_hh1_arm.ipk
kernel-2.4.6-rmk2-np1-fam4_hh1_arm.ipk
kernel-modules-2.4.6-rmk2-np1-fam4_hh1_arm.ipk
pcmcia-cs_0.0-fam3-1_arm.ipk
pcmcia-modules-2.4.6-rmk2-np1-fam4_hh1_arm.ipk
pcnet-modules-2.4.6-rmk2-np1-fam4_hh1_arm.ipk
stowaway-modules-2.4.6-rmk2-np1-fam4_hh1_arm.ipk
wireless-tools_21-1.0_arm.ipk
wvlan-modules-2.4.6-rmk2-np1-fam4_hh1_arm.ipk
I'm not sure how to make absolutely sure they "took" but the kernel
did:
Linux familiar 2.4.6-rmk2-np1-fam4 #8 Wed Jul 18 12:34:26 EDT 2001 armv4l unknown
The /lib/modules/2.4.6-rmk2-np1-fam4/ tree looks reasonable populated
but I haven't found any memory_cs.o file. Do I need to change
the pcmcia conf/init scripts? Or do I need a package I've so far missed?
Any help appreciated, especially from anyone that has the dual slot
working and/or a orinco or similar 802.11b wireless card working.
If I'm missing some obvious forgive me, I've been programming/sysadmining
linux environments for quite some time but the ipaq/arm/pda environment
is completely new to me.
Thanks,
