qpe 1.3.1 & fam v0.4 -> screen blanks out and only "flickers" diagonally

Friends,

Is there anybody else out there that has installed QPE on top of
familiar v0.4?

I have been running familiar v0.4 (kernel2.4.3-rmk2-np1) with X11
on a ipaq H3660 for a few days but was getting a bit disappointed
with the lack of apps.

So now I have "discovered" QPE (thanks Holger) and installed it.
;-)) Great, excellent work !

BUT now I get only to enjoy it for as long as the screen blankout
time is set to. ;-(

As soon as that time is reached my screen goes sort of blank
with a diagonal flicker goin across it. And any and all ssh
sessions to the ipaq freeze.

Is there a way to avoid this?

I tried just telling it NOT to blank out the screen at all, but then it
happens as I press the power button.

PS: Is there any IRC channel that is best to discuss qpe issues
on? Or is the #ipaq or #familiar channel on handhelds the "best"
place?
