As far as I know, the iPAQ never uses the sleeve for power. In my
experience, the PCMCIA sleeve is drained far faster than the iPAQ, by having
a WaveLAN card in it.
I find that the iPAQ sleeps very well (with the kernel I'm using) if the
sleeve is removed. Doesn't seem too bad even with the sleeve.
