What's the use of rsync without rsh?

Hi,
    I tried using the rsync package that came with the familiar 0.4 dist to
transfer things to and fro of the ipaq. However, after I ran the rsync as a
daemon, I discovered that it required the rsh to work. And I couldn't find
rsh.ipk in the packages list. So, is there a workaround or was the rsync
package added accidentally?
