shutdown/halt/poweroff & snoozing

Hi all,

I've just installed Familiar for the first time on my new iPAQ 3660 (and
managed to avoid all use of Windows in the process, minicom timing
issues notwithstanding :), and have a coupla no-doubt stupid questions.
I've looked in the archives, but no luck.

As yet I only have the base root image in place.

o I note that shutdown -r works perfectly, taking me down cleanly to the
bootldr, but shutdown -h/poweroff/halt all seem to hang at:

INIT: no more processes left in this runlevel

and I need to physically reset. Is this supposed to happen?

o What's the power consumption when "snoozing", i.e. clicking the power
button whilst at the bootldr?

At the end of the day, should I be physically powering off via the
slider, or is a snooze sufficient?

In other words, how long will the batteries last whilst snoozing? What's
the actual difference between snoozing and powering off?

Thanks very much in advance; I'm very pleased to have got rid of wince
and have Linux working :)

best regards,
Calum.
