should consumer IR work on h38x?

Hi,

I got the impression that maybe consumer IR is not working on iPAQ h38x.
Since it is not able to receive signal (mode2) and send signal (rc).
Before I jump to installing IRman, can somebody confirm that CIR should
work on h38x (if yes, than the problem is somewhere with my lirc
configuration)?
