One of the discussions on HandHelds.org talked about
stealing DRAM from Linux by setting a boot parameter
and using that DRAM for persistent storage (as long as
it has battery power, anyway). I have a lot of unused
DRAM; /mnt/ramfs usually has about 15MB free space.
I'd like to steal between 5 and 8 MB and create a
filesystem on it. Unfortunately, the discussion
mentions that it can be done, but doesn't give
particulars.
I assume I would use one of the /dev/ram* devices, but
which one?
