kernel panic (on ipaq)

I'm cross-posting this to sa1100-linux and familiar
groups.

I'm running linux on an iPaq 3670 (sa1100) with
the familiar linux distribution. This is a trace
of a boot with the 2.4.4-rmk3-np1 ("demo") kernel.
This happens only after I do an ipkg install pending,
and setup ssh. It doesn't panic right after I flash
root.

Anyone have any ideas on what might be going wrong?
The jffs2 DATA CRC error occurs even right after I
"load root".
