Hi. I've made an ipkg of my Tcl/Tk-based application suite "aqtools",
which you can find out more about at http://www.aq.org/~js/aqtools/ .
Obviously, this requires Tcl and Tk be installed.
The components that are most likely to be of interest on an iPAQ are
a multi-mode editor, a (very new, but fairly featureful) addressbook
(which could also be configured for such things as a CD or software
inventory, if I were to write the documentation for it :-), and a
hideous ugly hack of a calendar app whose only redeeming feature is
that if you run it on the desktop as well you can print pretty PostScript
from it.
I use the suite a lot on the iPAQ, but I haven't tested everything,
and I know there are a few things that don't work quite right (usually
because of the screen size). The apps do adapt themselves somewhat
to the iPAQ screen, though. One problem is that there's a delay of
a couple of seconds before any new window is displayed; I think that
may be a bug in the interaction of the very slightly outdated version
of Tk that's in the Familiar feed with ion, although I'm not sure.
The ipkg is at
http://www.aq.org/~js/aqtools/aqtools-0.2002.01.26-0_arm.ipk
(This is the first ipkg I've ever made, and I made it by hand 'cause I
wasn't sure where to get ipkg-build, so I'd appreciate people trying
it out from here before I pester Jamey about getting permission to
upload to unstable.)
Hope somebody finds some of this useful.
Cheers,
-j.
