I've now submitted the ion package to Alexander to be included in the
unstable feed. The package is named ion, (Alexander could you remove
ion-nasty-hacks when you upload the new ion package?)

The nasty behavior of the old package was that it overwrote
/etc/init.d/x, (which meant that if you ever removed ion, X would no
longer start at boot). This package is a bit cleaner in that regard,
but this also means that ion will not become your default window
manager simply by installing this package. You'll have to edit
/etc/init.d/x to make that happen. Also, while you're editing that
script be sure to fire up an X program that allows you to start other
programs, (ie. an app launcher like foal or maybe just an
rxvt). Otherwise, you won't be able to do much, (as ion does not
provide its own menu).

PS. If there are any users out there who have been using
ion-nasty-hacks you'll notice that this package changes the behavior
of ion somewhat. The improvements are intentional and will be
permanent. The things that got worse, I hope to fix again soon. :)
