I installed git version 1.4.4.4 using macports version 1.320. My
notebook is an Apple iBook G4 running Mac OS X version 10.4.8. The exact
package of git in macports is called git-core. I use this command:
<snip>
git clone http://familiar.handhelds.org/git/familiar-build.git
</snip>
to receive the following error:
<snip>
error: Unable to start request
error: Could not interpret heads/master as something to pull
</snip>
I am trying to create away to do familiar or OE through Mac OS X. I had
intended to do this sooner more than a year ago but my personal life and
work took up a good part of my time. I have been toying around with the
MacPorts project and I see this as a good means to bring linux software
to the world of Mac OS X. I am going to try a vanilla install of git and
start from there to see what is missing in the git-core MacPort. TIA
