missing python module - stringprep?

I'm having a hard time locating the stringprep.py module for python
2.4.1 (in Familiar v.0.8.3 RC2). I've tried looking though the contents
of all the python packages on http://www.vanille.de/projects/python.spy,
but I still can't find seem to find it. I need this module mainly for
httplib, which crashes because it can't find the "idna" encoding even
though I've installed the encodings module.

Is there a better way to search through the various packages available
in the familiar feeds? Thanks.
