ppp connection?

OK, perhaps this is a silly question, but I've install 0.4 and I was
wondering how I'm supposed to get a shell?

I've installed the task-familiar-complete.jffs2 image as my root, I'm able
to make a ppp connection to my ipaq and ping it, but in wandering around
/bin, /sbin, /usr/bin, and /usr/sbin through minicom, I can't find inetd,
sshd, or anything else that will allow me to connect over my newly created
ppp connection so that I can install any other packages. The only port open
is 6000 (X) when I do an NMAP scan of my ipaq, but my Linux host doesn't
have X-Windows on it.

How do I bootstrap myself to the point where I have ssh/rlogin/telnet
access?
