I am trying to load Linux on the iPaq which I recently purchased here in Japan.
It has 32MB of flash and 32MB of RAM. First, I tried to download the bootloader
in accordance to the instructions mentioned in the handhelds.org webpage. I am
trying to download the bootldr v2.14.8, which was strongly recommended (The
instructions for the downloading of Familiar0.4 requires v2.14.5 though). The
download proceeded properly but protecting the bootldr flash sector did not
produce the desired result. I tried the pflash command a couple more times but
the value returned is still 00000000 instead of 00010001.
What should I do? Should I try flashing a different version of the bootloader?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
